HOW TO CLEAN JEWELLERY

Pandora jewellery uses sterling silver which is a precious metal that may need occasional cleaning. Sterling silver will retain its beauty and luster with proper care and handling.

Does Pandora jewellery tarnish?

Yes, sterling silver tarnishes which only affects the metal surface but it can be removed by cleaning. Your silver will stay beautiful and lustrous by taking good care of it.

What causes Pandora jewellery to tarnish?

All sterling silver will tarnish over time, but it will happen much faster when it comes into contact with agents such as perfume, salty air, sulfur, skin creams, hairspray, chlorine and acidic skin ph.

How should I care for my Pandora jewellery?

Make sure that you do not wear any jewellery whilst bathing, sleeping, swimming, or during sporting activities. Please note: chlorine and bleach accelerate tarnishing and should be avoided.

Store jewellery in a jewellery box or pouches and keep it away from abrasive surfaces.
Treated freshwater cultured pearls and leather should be kept away from direct sunlight or strong lighting for long periods of time to prevent fading.
Handle jewellery with love and care, especially treated freshwater cultured pearls, mother of pearls, glass charms, and charms made entirely of a stone (with a metal core). Be extra careful not to drop them on the floor or knock them against hard surfaces as this could hurt their delicate structures.
Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, sleeping, and other sporting/physical activities.
Avoid contact with make-up, creams, perfumes, lotions, hand sanitizers, oils, and alcohol-based products.
Avoid silver dips, polishing compounds, and strong chemicals.

How should I clean my Pandora Jewellery?

To clean tarnish, soak your jewellery in diluted soapy lukewarm water for five (5) to ten (10) minutes. Gently brush with a soft toothbrush then dry thoroughly and polish with a soft cloth. This helps to remove the dirt and grit that may gather between the links of your bracelet causing wear and tear.

For leather: Simply wipe the leather gently with a soft, dry cloth. Stains should be removed immediately before they soak in or dry - use a mild soap. Make soap suds in a bowl and scoop off the suds (not the water) onto a soft, lint-free cloth, then wipe the leather. Lastly, wipe the leather with a dry cloth and add a leather conditioner to protect it further. Remember to keep leather out of direct sunlight.
